Alone with the Dead!? Chapter 1 (go back »)
May 11 2008, 4:54 AM
Running late is not good for me... or anyone near me, I get snappy and angry and take it out on my friends so I always try to get enough sleep. But not last night! I had to stay away from home until three in the morning, when my uncles friends had all passed out from drinking, I could finally go home and sleep. But now its the morning and I'm grouchy as ever. I stuffed some books, I have no idea if they were the right ones, into my bag and took off down the street, I brushed my hair on the way, I had to get there in two minutes! I hated starting my days like this! Ok, I give up on the brushing, I put my long dark brown hair into a scruffy bun and hurtled down the street. A car pulled up ahead of me. "Come on Motoko get in." "Oh thank god." I utter. I clambered into the passenger seat of my best friends Liz's car. "Thanks! I would have SO gotten the clamp at school!" "Yeah well, where did the days go where you didnt care? Ae? Oh, yeah I remember why you're acting like such a goody at school, sorry." "I'm not acting like such a... oh well, I suppose I am." I chuckled. "But it's worth it! I NEED that art scholarship! And i'm not allowed any detentions! DO you know how-" "Yes, I know how hard it is, and fix your hair up, you've got time now." I grinned and slid the dirty mirror in Liz's old cruddy car down from the shade. I applied some eyeliner and brushed my sleek hair into something straighter. "It amazes me how you look so great even when you havent done your hair or applied anything, in the mornings, if I dont have a proper 10 minute shower I'd look like a swollen frog of some sort." Liz said. I laughed. "Whatever, you look great all the time, do you know how many people envy your hair?" She flicked her naturally, perfectly straight hair and grinned slightly. "Anyway! Enough of the awkward convo! What times your hockey game?" "Weeeellll since we moved up to A grade... we have our game at 6:00." "Awesome, well, here we are... Hell disguised." She muttered the last part but I still heard and laughed. "Art?" "Yip." I was working on a massive project... finger painting. Nah okay, maybe not, I was doing photography today so I would be on the computers. The morning passed fast with art and p.e, useless subjects as my aunt and uncle would say... but they didnt even know I was taking them this year. Morning tea past with me at a hockey meeting, lunch was just social and the afternoon trickled past with Maths and Chemistry so that sucked. And now its after school, how to fill in the afternoon?
